Although Oyster Boy is not a Rampart, she is a fine Classic Wooden Motor Yacht and a good friend to the Club, having acting as an escort vessel for several of us, including on a trip up the Thames to the Traditional Boat Rally at Henley. And, of course, her current owner, Hugh Davies, was also the original creator of this ROC Website and Blog.
******** STOP PRESS : Good news – it looks as if Hugh’s stepson, Owen, is going to take on looking after Oyster Boy as a live-aboard *****
Sadly, Hugh is now selling Oyster Boy, and we would like to help him find her a deserving new home. Much work has been done to her hull recently by a renowned classic yacht specialist on the East Coast.
Oyster Boy was originally built in 1943 by Frank Curtis in Looe as a Pinnace for the admiralty. She was later converted to a Private Yacht in 1957.
If you have a serious interest in Oyster Boy please contact the Club at Rampartmotoryachts@hotmail.com and we will put you in touch with Hugh.
